On the afternoon of December 4th, the Undergraduate Education Teaching Quality Assessment Expert On-Site Inspection Meeting of School of International Education was held in Room 103 of the college. The assessment experts present included Li Xiaojun, Party Secretary and Vice President of Shanghai Dianji University; Fang Le, Project Manager of the Higher Education Assessment Office of Shanghai Education Assessment Institute; Kang Junfang, Project Secretary of the Assessment Office of Shanghai Education Assessment Institute; Dong Lingli, Head of the Student Affairs Department of SSPU; Sun Yan, Party Branch Secretary and President (Director of the Office of Foreign Students Affairs) of the School of International Education; Zhang Tiantian, Deputy Dean (Deputy Director); as well as representatives of teachers and students. The meeting was chaired by Sun Yan, Party Branch Secretary and President of the School of International Education.
During the inspection meeting, Sun Yan first warmly welcomed the leaders and expert teams who conducted the on-site inspection on behalf of the college. She then provided a detailed introduction on various aspects including the basic situation of the School of International Education, the top-level design of undergraduate education and teaching, the construction of teaching staff, talent cultivation, issues and solutions, challenges and planning. The teacher representatives reported on teaching reforms, ideological and political construction, and talent cultivation, while the student representatives engaged in discussions on their studies and life.
The evaluation expert panel indicated that through preliminary classroom observations and document reviews, they have gained an understanding of the good work style and education model of the School of International Education. The enthusiasm and sense of responsibility of the School of International Education were further felt during this report and discussion. The expert panel believes that the undergraduate program in international Chinese language education has achieved certain results in terms of distinctive educational features, curriculum system construction, and innovative teaching methods, which align with the university's development localization and fulfill the goals of professional talent cultivation. At the same time, the expert panel also offered valuable opinions and suggestions, pointing out the direction for the future development and improvement of the college's programs.
In her concluding remarks, Sun Yan stated that the college highly values this evaluation opportunity, will earnestly listen to and absorb the opinions and suggestions of the expert panel, further enhance the integration of disciplines, optimize resource allocation, strengthen the construction of teaching staff, deepen educational reforms, and continuously improve the quality of undergraduate education and teaching at the college. The college will continue to carry out the engineering exploration and construction of international Chinese education in accordance with the school's educational orientation, contributing more to the promotion of the school's internationalization of education.
