On the morning of October 31, 2024, Vice President Bai Jianfeng visited the International Education College (Office of Foreign Student Affairs) to conduct research work. The leadership team and representatives of the faculty from the School of International Education (Office of Foreign Student Affairs) participated in this research.
The Secretary and Dean (Director) of the School (Office of International Students), Sun Yan, reported to President Bai on the organizational structure, faculty, talent cultivation, annual work progress, and existing issues of the School (Office of International Students).
President Bai affirms the achievements made by the college (Office of International Students) in the education of international students, the cultivation of undergraduate talents in international Chinese language education, and the construction of the master's program in international Chinese education. He also recognizes the spirit of courage, unity, and forward-thinking among all faculty members, as well as the positive atmosphere for collaborative development. During the research process, President Bai supported the college (Office of International Students) in addressing issues encountered during its rapid development and expressed his hopes and requirements: First, to solidify the recruitment and management of international students, ensuring a high-quality source of international students for the university. Second, to focus on the integration of industry and education, leveraging the university's engineering background to enhance cooperation and exchange between interdisciplinary fields based on the core of the international Chinese education degree programs. Third, to strengthen the construction of the teaching staff, systematically increasing the proportion of teachers with international backgrounds to empower the international development of our educational endeavors.
President Bai's research has clarified the direction for the development of School of International Education (Office of Foreign Student Affairs). School of International Education (Office of Foreign Student Affairs) will continue to work with a high sense of responsibility and mission, fostering a new situation of high-quality development for the college (Office of International Students) with a solid work ethic.
