On the afternoon of September 18th at 1:00 PM, the Teacher Morality and Professionalism Construction Month Teacher Empowerment Enhancement Activity: Cultural Silk Road, Language Direction — the 2024 International Chinese Language Education Forum will be held in Room 301 of Building 19. Professor Shao Hongliang, a doctoral supervisor at Shanghai International Studies University and the director of the Chinese Language Teaching and Research Section for international students, has been invited to deliver an academic lecture titled Grammar Teaching and Error Analysis for the faculty and students of our institute.
Professor Shao has extensive experience in international Chinese language teaching. This lecture, from the perspective of a teacher, combines teaching cases to address the significant issue of language errors encountered in international Chinese education. First, Professor Shao introduced in detail the five strategies of grammar teaching, emphasizing that teaching grammar in international Chinese education is fundamentally different from grammar teaching itself. When selecting and explaining grammar points, more attention should be paid to hierarchy and step-by-step learning, focusing on the acceptance level of Chinese language learners as a second language. Secondly, through a variety of colorful language error cases, Professor Shao interpreted the principles of grammar error analysis and correction for the faculty and students, providing guidance and analysis on error correction issues, offering assistance for teaching practice to students majoring in Chinese language international education.
After the lecture, Professor Shao engaged in interactive Q&A sessions with the students on teaching methods, teaching techniques, and language research. Professor Shaos lecture was clear and engaging, providing lower-grade students with directions for teaching practice and offering valuable experience in grammar teaching for graduates about to enter the workforce.
