On August 31, 2024, School of International Education (Office of Foreign Students Affairs) warmly welcomed the new students of the 2024 cohort. To comprehensively ensure the service support for the New Student Day, the college leadership attached great importance and made meticulous arrangements, with teachers and student volunteers meticulously preparing for various tasks.
On the day of registration, SSPU Party Secretary Lu Min, SSPU President Xie Huaqing, Deputy Secretary of SSPU Party Committee Wu Peidong,SSPU Vice President Xu Yufang，successively inspected the new student registration area, warmly welcoming the arrival of the 2024 cohort of Chinese and international students. The leaders carefully understood the recruitment and registration situation of Chinese and international students, the composition of the student body, the number and major distribution of graduate students at the level of international students, and encouraged both Chinese and international students to study hard. Yin Gelan, the Minister of Propaganda, provided on-site guidance on the registration work of the new students from the perspective of publicity.
4Overseas international students are also arriving at the school to register. Under the joint arrangement of the International Students Office, logistics, and counselors, students from Russia, Japan, South Korea, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Morocco, and other countries have settled in at the school smoothly.
This fall, the college has admitted 30 new students to the major of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages. A total of 63 degree-seeking international students have been enrolled, including 59 undergraduate students and 4 graduate students. They come from 14 countries, including Russia, Japan, South Korea, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, and Indonesia; and 16 non-degree students from Sweden, Germany, Spain, Portugal, and Burkina Faso.
A new starting point, a new atmosphere. The 2024 cohort of national educations new youth, with aspirations for the future, are about to embark on a fresh journey of life on the beautiful Jin Hai Road campus. Wishing you to set sail and make the most of your time; accumulate small achievements to reach great heights, and journey far.
