To clarify the new semesters work direction and ensure the orderly progress of various tasks, on the afternoon of February 16th, the School of International Education (Office of International Student Affairs) convened the faculty meeting for the spring semester of the 2024-2025 academic year in Room 103 of Building 16. The meeting was chaired by Secretary Sun Yan (Dean, Director).
Secretary Sun Yan (Dean, Director) first reported on the progress of the college and the foreign students affairs during the winter vacation. Following this, she outlined the key tasks for the new semester: firstly, to carry out the rectification work in accordance with the university party committees requirements; secondly, to align with the municipal education commissions classification evaluation criteria and the universitys 14th Five-Year Plan, and to focus on the recruitment and management of international students; thirdly, to advance the recruitment and degree program construction for graduate students in international Chinese education; fourthly, to implement the employment and recruitment work for students majoring in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages; fifthly, to further test and clarify the direction of the colleges international education development in the practice of running the school, while strengthening the exploration of the integration of culture and arts in conjunction with the universitys development positioning. This year marks the final year of the 14th Five-Year Plan, and Secretary Sun Yan called on all faculty members to actively empower educational and teaching reforms with AI, to collaborate, and to innovate the colleges development ideas and initiatives.
Vice Dean Zhang Tiantian (Deputy Director) reviewed the completion of tasks at various nodes during the winter vacation and mobilized and deployed work related to the application for the pilot program of ideological and political education in courses, the application for teaching achievement awards, and the revision of training plans. She also encouraged everyone to actively apply for national social science projects to contribute to the colleges research work.
All faculty members listened carefully to the meeting content and expressed their commitment to align with the universitys development positioning and to diligently complete all work tasks in accordance with the meetings requirements. The convening of this meeting not only clarified the work direction and goals for the new semester but also further enhanced the cohesion and centripetal force of all faculty members.
